Flee Market Mania!

I've had a couple really fun weekends checking out the Brooklyn Flee Market action.

Week one I saw an awesome bracelet made out of old records that I wanted so badly but couldn't justify buying- however, I am in need of some nice new shirts, soooo.... I picked one up. I think I saw a tag on it that said, "To be worn and enjoyed by Cass1dy" and since there's only one of me out there, (Facebook says so), it must be me!

The following week, I saw the Scavenger Hunt Item was THE BRACELET. Which means, if you find it, you keep it- for free! How perffffect. Joey and I got there as early as my late night/early morning return Saturday night would permit. I scoured the grounds for over an hour anddddddd the two fellows who walked away with my $18 the previous week, were the booth hiding the bracelet. . . . a big happy family we were celebrating this past Sunday. So, I'm basically Blog Famous now.

Oh, and maybe my good fortune had something to do with the fact that while this picture was being taken... the bird pooped on me! The woman's response? "Don't worry, it's biodegradable, their vegetarians". Riigghhht,,,, no worries over here!?!?

Talent: Here, There, Everywhere

People sure like to try and make a buck on the train. Some times it's nice, some times it's not, and sometimes it's just fucking hilarious.

Here are some from my collection:

Atlantic Station (My Station)

Two boys, no older than 13 were walking around the train with dark sun glasses, ripped cut off shorts, shotty amps hanging from their pants (one of which fell off during a song). I got the eyes of a girl sitting across from me and we broth broke out into giggles. They were trying so hard that some one actually said, "you're over singing, try -not trying so hard"

I caught these two boys in Washington Square park one sunny afternoon... if it wasn't such different styles I might think it was the same two boys.

I started realizing that with a little encouraging, you could get just about anyone on the street to sing... this is my first attempt:

it didn't go so well, so I tried to encourage her

She didn't sing for me, however later on that night, I did get this guy

I thought the mystery woman would be impressed, however this was her reaction

I have to say I think the best talent came from my buddy Dana

I'm just warming up . . .

Pedro's Story

I've started collecting sounds and random conversations from around the city. To start things off I'm going to play you this story from a new friend of mine:

(Hope you find it as entertaining as I did)
